Takashi Tokoro is a Japanese ophthalmologist, Honorary Professor at Tokyo Medical and Dental University (Institute of Science Tokyo), a world leader in pathologic (degenerative) myopia and uveitis. In 1974 he established the High Myopia Clinic at the university, described as the only clinic in the world dedicated to pathologic myopia, with more than 3,000 registered patients. He has published more than 230 papers and is a frequent coauthor on clinical and experimental ophthalmology studies.
