Анализ гистоструктурных изменений поверхности глаза у пациентов с хронической глаукомой
Analysis of Histostructural Modifications in the Ocular Surface of Patients With Chronic Glaucoma.
Chronic open-angle glaucoma is a complex disease characterized by a progressive degeneration of the optic nerve and a loss of retinal ganglion cells, resulting in a detectable excavation of the optic nerve disc.1 With a prevalence of 3.5%, glaucoma is considered the main cause of irreversible blindness worldwide, and it is estimated that more than 110 million people will be affected by this condition by 2040.2 One of the main factors associated with the retinal damage in patients with glaucoma is high intraocular pressure (IOP), although oxidative stress, immunological alterations, and other factors may also play an important role.3
